Haynes Introduces BMW R nineT, Honda Grom, Royal Enfield Single, and Triumph Triple Manuals
NEWBURY PARK, CA, March 8th - Haynes, the long preferred source of service manuals for owners of European motorcycles, announces the introduction of four new titles covering some of the most popular bikes among modern DIY mechanics. These four bikes could not be more different, each having a unique character, but all are popular platforms for riders who enjoy wrenching on their own bikes and customizing them. From retro to modern, fast to fun, sporty to leisurely, these four bikes can satisfy almost every rider. Unlike the factory service manual, our manuals are written with the average home mechanic in mind, and both the traditional book and the online digital version include easy to follow instructions, clear and concise test procedures, plus hundreds of photos.
BMW R nineT
BMW introduced the next generation boxer engine powered R nineT retro standard in 2014, with a look based on a one off Roland Sands custom bike that BMW had commissioned. It used BMW's trademark 1200cc boxer twin engine, now with oil and air cooling, and makes more than 100 horsepower. Created as an easily modified platform for home builders, BMW Motorrad nevertheless proceeded to offer their own custom variations to satisfy riders looking for a scrambler, cafe racer, or more retro look.
Haynes 2014-17 BMW R nineT manual covers all variations including:
- R nineT
- R nineT Pure
- R nineT Racer
- R nineT Scrambler
- R nineT Urban G/S
Honda Grom MSX125
It is not surprising that Honda created the Grom, a 125cc street legal mini bike similar to their old Trail 70 (which Clymer covers here), but it was very surprising that they went though the hassle of bringing it to America. The simple motor is an evolution of the old laid down Honda OHC motor from back in the day, with fuel injection and modern electronics, and a top speed nearing 60 mph, but the brakes and chassis are better than anyone in the 1960s would have dreamed possible. Grom clubs now customize their bikes and ride in packs all over the country.
The Haynes 2013-18 Grom MSX125 manual is a great reference for any builder, covering:
- Grom MSX125D
- Grom MSX125E
- Grom MSX125F
- Grom MSX125G
- Grom MSX125H
- Grom MSX125AH
Royal Enfield 500/535cc Singles
The modern Royal Enfield singles look a lot like the classic british bikes of the 1960s for good reason - the Brits set up a factory in India decades ago which made the original bikes until early in the 21st-century. This Haynes manual covers the new for 2009, modern design, fuel injected air cooled 500cc and 535cc single which shares almost nothing but the look with the original bike. Previous to this release, the only service manuals for these bikes were poorly translated versions of the original Hindi factory manuals.
Based on a complete teardown, our 2009-2018 Royal Enfield manual covers:
- Bullet 500
- Classic 500
- Electra 500
- Continental GT 535
Triumph 1050cc Triples
The Speed Triple is one of the great success stories to come out of the reborn Hinckley based Triumph motorcycles, owing nothing to the past and making no excuses in the name of style. This Haynes manual covers the fourth generation 1050cc version of this modern three cylinder Triumph motor in sport bikes, naked bikes, and even the dirt oriented Tiger. If you want retro, look to the Triumph Bonneville (which we also cover here or here), but if you want modern power and handling the triples are the way to go.
Haynes is based in Britain, so next to the factory, nobody know more than us about the 2005-2013 Triumph 1050 Triples covering:
-
Sprint ST
-
Sprint GT
-
Speed Triple
-
Speed Triple R
-
Tiger
-
Tiger SE
-
Tiger Sport
Every Haynes manual is written from the hands-on experience gained from stripping down and rebuilding a bike in the Haynes Project Workshop. The practical step-by-step instructions and clear photos are easy to follow and provide information on maintenance, repairs, troubleshooting, fault finding and testing, and Haynes tips to make many tasks easier. More important than ever, most now include color wiring diagrams for all electrical circuits. The traditional paper books are still produced, but even better is the expanded Haynes online digital manual, with high resolution color image and more of them, plus quick search function.
Haynes Publishing, with its subsidiaries Clymer, Chilton DIY, and I & T Tractor manuals, is the world-leader in automotive, motorcycle, marine, and tractor repair content. We are responsible for teaching millions how to carry out routine maintenance and repairs for over 50 years, and we still do it by dismantling and putting countless vehicles back together again. Only in this unique hands-on way can Haynes provide authoritative and step-by-step information on both basic and complex tasks through print, digital and other products.
