Initial Diagnostic Steps
Step 1: Understand the cause of the issue by replicating the problem.
Step 2: Begin diagnosing the issue with basic checks whether you can hear or see the problem. For this issue, we checked to see if the electrical fuel pump and the fuel pump relay was working.
Step 3: Perform more advanced diagnostics with tools. For this issue, the team used a multimeter to check the voltage in the coils and a fuel pressure gauge to check the PSI level in the fuel pump.
Once you've isolated the problem, in this case, there was no fuel pressure, begin preparing to replace the fuel pump and fuel filter.
